The Lyric:
I guess I’ll have to shut you down for good this time,
Already tried a SIGQUIT, so now it’s KILL DASH 9.
You gotta learn when it’s time for your thread to yield;
It shoulda slept; instead you stepped and now your fate is sealed.
I’ll take your process off the run queue without even asking
‘Cause my flow is like reentrant and preemptive multitasking.
Your sad rhymes are spinnin’ like you’re in a deadlock,
You’re like a synchronous sock that don’t know when to block;
So I pull out my keyboard and I pull out my glock,
And I dismount your girl and I mount /proc
And I’ve got your fuckin pid and the bottom line
Is that you best not front or else it’s KILL DASH NINE.

KILL DASH NINE,
No more CPU time.
I run KILL DASH NINE,
And your process is mine.
I run KILL DASH NINE,
‘Cause it’s MY time to shine
So don’t step outta line or else it’s
KILL DASH NINE!

See it ain’t about the Benjamins or Pentiums or Athlons,
But you rappin’ 50 meters while I’m spittin’ in decathlons.
Your shit’s old and busted, mine’s the new hotness;
You’re like CLR and I’m like CLRS.
You’re running csh and my shell is bash,
You’re the tertiary storage; I’m the L1 cache.
I’m a web crawling spider; you an Internet mosquito;
You thought the 7-layer model referred to a burrito.
You’re a dialup connection; I’m a gigabit LAN.
I last a mythical man-month; you a one-minute man.
It’s like I’m running Thunderbird and you’re still stuck with Pine,
Which is why I think it’s time for me to KILL DASH NINE.

Yeah it’s KILL DASH NINE
No more CPU time.
‘Cause it’s KILL DASH NINE,
And your process is mine.
I said KILL DASH NINE
‘Cause it’s my time to shine,
So don’t step outta line or else it’s
KILL DASH NINE!

My posse throws down like leaky bucket regulators;
I was coding shit in MIPS while you were playing Space Invaders.
With my finger on the trigger I run ./configure
Yo, this package is big, but MY package is bigger.
I roll my weed with Zig Zag while I zag-zig splay,
And I do a bounds check before I write to an array.
I’m a loc’d out baller writing KLOCS a day,
‘Cause it’s publish or perish, fool, what can I say?
I’m 26 now, will I live to see 28?
Some days I wonder if I’ll survive to graduate.
But hey, that’s just fine, I won’t ever resign,
And if fools try to step then it’s KILL DASH NINE!

Yeah it’s KILL DASH NINE,
From my command line
It’s KILL DASH NINE
Sending chills down your spine,
I said KILL DASH NINE,
‘Cause it’s my time to shine,
So don’t step outta line or else it’s
KILL DASH NINE!

fs sa rlidwka
I’ll chown your home and take your access away
Comin’ straight outta Stanford, ain’t nobody tougher,
Control-X, Control-C, I’ll discard your fuckin’ buffer.
You’re outside your scope, son, close them curly brackets,
‘Cause I drop punk-ass bitches like a modem drops packets.
Dump your motherfucking core, and trace your stack
‘Cause where your ass is going, there won’t be no callback.
See my style is divine and my code is sublime,
My career’s in a climb and yours is in a decline.
I’ll write a pound-define and assign you as mine,
So refine those sad rhymes or remove your plus signs,

Or it’s KILL DASH NINE,
No more CPU time,
‘Cause it’s KILL DASH NINE,
And your process is mine,
I said KILL DASH NINE
‘Cause it’s my time to shine,
Bitch you stepped outta line and now it’s
KILL DASH NINE!

Introduction

jQuery is great. But the best is the that you can use tons of jQuery plugins for each amazing functionality you want to provide. And you can implement it right away without spending a couple of months doing javascript web development and all the pain in the ass that means (even when Jquery makes your life easier regarding that).

But then comes one problem:, you want autocomplete plugin for some forms, you want blockUI plugins for the ajax calls, you want ClueTip plugin for nice tips/help when people submit forms, you want the form plugin to submit your forms through ajax and if that wasn’t enough, you need to load a 4kb js file full of code to provide some amazing functionality.

That’s great, your site kick ass, but your page takes some times between half a minute and a minute to load, and worst: when someone leaves your page, the browser needs at least 10 seconds to be able to leave your page thanks to all the js code you put over it.

In this article you will find a simple solution to that problem, that works great (at least for me). The only js requirement on my systems are: jquery library & jquery blockUI plugin. Any other plugin/js code I need, I only load it on demand, when the user really need it, and I make that user wait when he want that functionality for the first time, instead of make every user wait even when they don’t need that functionality.

Now the code…

Let’s suppose you have developed a fancy feature on your site which provides some amazing web 2.0 functionality, for that to work you need the ClueTip plugin and a custom js file with all your code.When the user clicks on a link you start your feature by calling startMyFancyFeature(param1,param2).
Then create a load function for your fancy feature called loadMyFancyFeature(param1,param2):

var isLoadedFancyFeature = 0;
function loadMyFancyFeature() {
if ( isLoadedFancyFeature != 1) {
// This user never needed your fancy feature before so you need to load it.
// Block the interface while we load it:
$.blockUI({ message: ‘<h1><img src=”/image_dir/your-loader.gif” />Loading…</h1>’ });
// Then load the ClueTip Plugin
jQuery.getScript( ‘/js/jquery.cluetip.js’, function() {
// This code will run only when cluetip was successfully loaded
// Now load your js code for the fancy feature
jQuery.getScript( ‘/js/mycode.js’, function() {
// Now user is ready to see your feature, unblock the interface and give it to him.
$.unblockUI();
isLoadedFancyFeature = 1;
startMyFancyFeature(param1,param2);
});
});
} else {
// User already loaded Cluetip and your code, just provide the feature.
startMyFancyFeature(param1,param2);
}
}

This is a proof of concept, take it and adapt it to your needs. If it proves useful for you, please leave a comment and let me know it, my karma will be thankful :).

At first I though it was a joke until I realized he was serious about it.
Today Reuters Published declarations from John Walters who is the director of the U.S. War on Drugs, that is the director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

He warned parents about the dangers of kids as young as 13 watching videos online about people getting high on dope. According to him this encourage kids to do that. As usual with the war on drugs, the first objective is Fear, so below are top two phrases from him found on that article:

“Parents would be horrified to think that people are sneaking into their house to encourage their kids to build a bong or to chug on beer at age 13,”

“The fact is those people are sneaking into your house through your Internet connection on your computer,”

Let’s suppose he is right, let’s suppose that because kids at 13 watch something they would try to do it no matter if they know it’s dangerous to themselves. Then, why Internet? In internet they search for videos they WANT to see, they don’t see something they never wanted to see or thought about it, right?. But, now comes the fun… follow me…

What about T.V. ? Everyone knows that nowadays parents are completely irresponsible regarding TV access for kids, and that kids at 13 check the cable program to choose which movie they are going to see. That’s a fact. Then we have the whole Hollywood industry, the whole TV industry, which is constantly producing movies or series where values like “torture for good”, “killing for good”, “lying for good” are in the message of most movies.

This makes the following point:

If John Walter is right, the reason behind why our current society is broke, the crime rise, and values are lost… is the Hollwood/TV Industry. Because when you are a kid is where most of your personality is created and your values are set. If at that age — as he says — kids try to to do what they see on TV/Movies/Youtube, then we now know why we are so fucked up as society.

If John Walter is not right, then this was no more than another try, just to keep a war on drugs that is miserable failure, getting some good press.

Now what I really believe: I do believe that the war on drugs is indeed a miserable failure. I believe it’s purpose is misguide people just to keep a black market, one of the worlds most big markets. But at the same time, I believe the point that kids try to repeat what they see on TV it’s true. I believe one of the reason that we sucks so much as society it’s the stupid values that are promoted and repeated all day long by most TV channels worldwide. That’s what I believe regarding this subject, now regarding John Walter, I believe he is trying to keep his job, every one knows the old dilemma: “It’s difficult for someone to say you something is white, if his job depends on that thing being black.”

#1 “ The territorial integrity and borders of Georgia must be respected, just as those of Russia or any other country”

Who say it: President Bush on August 26th, 2008.

What he forgot to say: “Except if your country have oil and we need it, and except if one of our strong allies need your territory, in that case, it doesnt matter. But as Georgia don’t have oil, then you must respect the territorial integrity and borders of Georgia.”

#2 ” There’s no room for debate on this matter. The United Nations Security Council has adopted numerous resolutions concerning Georgia.”

Who say it: President Bush on August 16th, 2008.

Short Version of what he forgot to say: “It’s an order, not a rational argument, so please don’t debate”.

Long Version of what he forgot to say: “No debate means we are not going to discuss about why we a few months ago ignored resolution 1.244 concerning Serbia and recognized anyway the independence of Kosovo against a UN Security Council resolution. So please do what we say… it’s an order, not a rational argument”.

I swear I tried to find a better title for at least ten minutes without luck.

#3 ” No cause can justify the deliberate taking of innocent human life — and the international community is nearing universal agreement on this truth.”

Who say it: Bush on the last U.N. speech on September 23th, 2008.

What he forgot to say: … and by “nearing universal” I mean it doesn’t apply to civilians killed in the fight against terrorism. If you are fighting terrorism, killing 90.000 civilians in Irak or 20.000 in Afghanistan do not count as taking innocent human life. After all, they lived in the same country of those terrorists so each civilian killed is one less chance of a civilian became a terrorist.

I’m seriously considering stop watching the colbert report or the daily show. After moscow answer to georgia attack on South Ossetia and Abkhazia, most (if not all) western media outlets started to disseminate washington view on the issue. That was something really expected as they usually do that, until here everything sucked but it sucked like always so no reason to write about it, more of the same shit.

But suddenly the light came…the whitehouse statements on the Moscow response and the unilateral recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia as independent states were… how to say it… insulting to the world intelligence.

Not only the statements, but the way it were printed on all worldwide news without almost no one saying “hey, that’s insulting”, they just print it like a serious news… first I was angry, then I laugh, then I was angry again, then I decided to find a simple way to accept this and not generate further bad feelings: The bush administration has put a feet into Satire tv news, they plan to compete with Jon Stewart & Stephen colbert. That’s the real answer.

As soon I found some free time I’ll put more funny quotes from bush, I’m sure there are and there will be plenty of statements, at least until nov 2008.

Hello Frank, how are you doing? are you all right?

Sunday morning blues, you know. Just ain’t the bet when you just want to lie down and have a good rest.
Coz the nerves kind of get to you. When you feel kinda small… and all those things moving up and down against the wall.

Then you tie on that bandana and you feel kind of tough, even now you know that life is really of rough. And your mama comes and hits you with a plastic telephone and she’s gone and told you you’re not even home and…

she has called you on that telephone, on she has called you on that telephone
Your mum said you weren’t home, she called you on the telephone
Your mum told you weren’t home, oh mama what did you do? Oh mama what did you do?

She thinks I’m with her.. I’m gonna get blue, I’m gonna cut my throat, I’m gonna smash my head, I’m gonna jump into the bath, I’m gonna lie in bed.

Well anyway.. that never happened.. because… one day… Religion came to stay!
oh yeah, religion come to stay
oh yeah bad vibes, they’ve gone all away.
oh yeah, religion came to stay

All right what you tell rastafar. I tell you god there in the heaven and he looks after you, and that’s what they say. Well I’m telling you from the southern united states of america that god and christ are in your body and they’re living with you.
Dominus, vosbicum etu spiritu tuum

All right, let’s pray! Let us pray! oh oh oh
Let us pray! A ja ja ja Let us pray!
Pray, pray, pray, pray baby pray for us
Jesus Christ, won’t you pray for us?
Oh, won’t you pray for us?

I think we’re there.. Oh, no? maybe not, doesn’t matter, keep going.
Well you know these songs get kinda long, especially when they call me on the telephone.
Well I’ve been thinking about things, but I’ve forgotten of what I thought, so I think I’ll just go on and sing this.

Oh baby stand by me, oh no, no… no woman no cry, oh no… La rubia tarada!…

If you need multi language support for your Wordpress, go for it: It’s the best one of all which support multi language.

If you need like me to do some posts in one language, some in other, and later if you have time do some translations, then this is the only one which supports that as far as I know.

Well… the plugin it’s nice, I like it and it seems to support all it claims.

However there is a big important gotcha… if you implement this plugin, all your old url’s are going to start being redirected. As all links will change also in every place of wordpress, this will affect you as much as popular you are. In my case this is a new wordpress instalation so really don’t care, but if you have a thousand page indexed by search engines, this will kill your rank.

I’m now trying to join the developers group to try to convince to move all thos redirects to be permanent (301) and not 302 like they use now. In the meantime, I’m going to share a small temporary fix for this.

In my specific case what was a mess was that I had a very good ranking on search engines in the root page of this domain, so if I don’t do 301 redirect from that page, I’m probably going to lost all that old and good ranking for my keyword — which is my first & last name –.

So this is the fix I found for me, without looking too much, just trying to get straight to the point and avoid as much change as possible in current gengo code, it’s with a single extra line of code in gengo.php.

Find line 1706:

header('Location: ' . $this->append_link_language($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'], $code_string, true));

Prepend before that line:

if ( strcmp($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'],”/”) == 0) header(”HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently”);

Done! This little fix will take care of send a 301 (instead of a 302) only when the required redirect it’s from the root of the domain, but not when it’s in any other parts of the site.

Anyway, the best way to fix this will be to leave the current urls as they are and support that no lang in url means default language. Instead of current model of force a change in every url. As I’m not a wordpress plugin developer I don’t know how hard or easy should be to implement this change.

Hope someone finds this useful and if you fix it better, please share your code.

¿Have you ever wonder how to make a full backup of a dvd you own?

People lend dvd’s and when you lend something many times, it will end damaged and that nice move you had will not be useful for anything else than to put glass on it to avoid leave marks on the table.

Therefore here is a simple instructions on how to make full backups from your dvd’s using software freely available on internet.

You have two options, but I’ll recommend to download both as sometimes some dvd’s protection confuse the software. However I’ve never seen both applications confused, if one can’t, the other can.
These applications can be easily installed in any ubuntu installation from Add/Remove Packages menu.
Applications names: Dvd95, K9copy.

As most dvd’s come in dual layer dvd’s and you don’t want to spend so much money on blank dual layers dvd’s, these applications besides creating your backup, can compress it to make it fit into a blank single layer dvd.

The whole idea in both applications goes like this:
- Insert the original DVD you want to backup.
- Application will show you all the chapters/languages/subtitles in the dvd.
- If you leave here everything checked, it means the software will have to compress the movie to make it fit into the dvd with all languages & subtitles. However, as most of the time you will never use the Korean
language of the movie, remove it. As much as you remove (unclick) from your dvd, the less compression the software will need to do in the movie. Less compression = better quality.

Then just click go and you are done.
Of course there are more things to talk about these software but you have the basics now, as matter of fact, I dont burn the dvd’s with this applications, I usually set both to create an ISO file for me, then I save
the ISO in the hard drive to burn it whenever I’ve time and blanks dvd’s.

Good luck!

Even when p2p network continue to exist and get bigger and bigger, I’ve not used one for more than a year, now I use google for download music.

A phrase between quotes in google means “Find exactly this phrase”. Therefore if you try something like
“Pink Floyd” “Dark side of the moon” you will find loads of pages strictly related to that cd, of course most of it will be pages to buy the cd or with lyrics of it.

Where’s the key? The new online storage providers. Used more than ever by loads of people around the globe to upload full albums and share it through their blogs.

So try again that search and add the name of any of the most populars free online storage services, that’s Rapidshare, Megaupload, Easyshare, Zshare, etc.

You see? :)

By the way, I will strongly recommend to leave open the blog where you find the links while you downloading and until you decompress the file. Most people use rar files protected with password to avoid the admins from the service to be able to check the contents of the files. Therefore you will need most
of the times a password to decompress the file, usually easily find on the blog where you find the link to the file.

Good luck and if you like anything you download, please go to your store and buy the CD to support the artist. Keep in mind most artists would not be able to buy their tenth car or their fifth house without your help. Don’t be greedy :)
